
The spectacular Drakensberg mountain range and ancestral with 3,482 m is the highest mountain range in South Africa and is spread over a huge swath of 1,000 km from north to east. In Zulu the mountain range called uKhahlamba, or barrier of spears, which does justice to its spectacular buttresses of basalt. The Blyde River Canyon is located on the north side of the ridge.
This escarpment virgin offers visitors spectacular views, many activities and has great historical value, is considered one of the most popular natural attractions in South Africa. It consists of a layer of sandstone covered by a layer of 1,400 m of basalt, and its incredible biodiversity and sandstone caves filled with the largest collection of San rock paintings in the world are two of its biggest attractions.
